Be sure to walk around the historic Heritage Park while appreciating the bird life and make time to explore the stories and interesting facts about the homestead as it takes you back in time. Ask to be shown the wine cellar, previously used by Grace Hall in the early 1900s to store her farm preserves and cured meats. Enquire about the royal visit of King George VI, Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Mother) and the princesses during an unscheduled stop of the White Train at the nearby Mataffin railway siding on the farm.

ROOM DETAILS
All rooms have extra-length king beds, alternatively, by request, we can make 2 single beds in rooms 2/3/4/5/6. Maximum 2 people per room in rooms 1/2/3/4/7. Rooms 5 & 6 upstairs can accommodate 2 people per room plus 2 children (Room 5 in bunks and Room 6 in sofa beds). 2 per room, total 14 plus 4 children.

BREAKFAST
DAILY – The breakfast table at Torburnlea Homestead celebrates essential fresh ingredients locally sourced and the well-stocked vegetable and herb garden allows for harvest, creativity and spontaneity in the kitchen. Stanford’s famous country-style breakfasts are legendary in the Lowveld.

DINNER
TUESDAYS to SATURDAYS – Three-course dinners don’t disappoint, but be sure to make a reservation as they are prepared on request – excluding Sundays, Mondays and Public Holidays.

ROOM 2
This intimate and cosy room has a king size extra-length bed, which can be configured as twin beds. Double wooden shutter doors lead into an ensuite bathroom with a wall-mounted shower (that can be used as a hand shower) and a beautiful ceramic basin. Double doors open out into the garden from the bedroom, to a small paved area with an outdoor table and chairs, perfect for early morning bird watching and a cup of coffee with Standford’s homemade rusks. Business travellers can prepare for meetings at the desk in the room.
