OUDE WELLINGTON
Enjoy your stay on our historical Cape Dutch Estate of 1790 with thatched roofs and a spectacular view over the Hawequa mountains. Hot Breakfast (eggs to order: poached, scrambled or boiled (sorry no omelette) is served 8:00 to 10:00. A grace period with our cold buffet is open until 10:45. Please take note that for more than 10 guests we serve scrambled eggs only.
Our cold buffet includes 4-5 different breads, muesli, corn flakes, other flakes. 3 cheeses, 2-3 cold cuts incl. salami, 2-3 yoghurts, milk, 2-4 fresh fruit in season, 3 jams, honey, Marmite, peanut butter, occasionally Nutella. Bottomless Tea and coffee.

Enjoy your day at the swimming pool, watch the farm animals, play a round of billiards or Pétanque (boule). The new big chess and an outdoor table tennis table is there for you too. During harvest you can actually see the grapes turn into wine before your eyes. Guests enjoying a special anniversary in winter, there is no better place than in front of our big Cape Dutch fireplace with a glass of red wine. Near by a snake farm, lion rescue and crocodile farm are open to the public. Or visit a nearby alpaca breeding farm with a cottage industry.

Oude Wellington Estate is a working farm with animals, vineyards and a winery using open fermentation and wooden basket-press. A traditional Brandy distillery with a build in restaurant. We also have horses on the farm. Our pets include lovable dogs and cats, geese and two alpacas. Our excellent spa for massages. Hiking trails and rock pools in a small national park are a 40 minutes’ drive away.

Luxury rooms (1-7) are 4star graded and have their own private entrances, en-suite Victorian-style bathrooms, wall-safes, air-conditioning; some have under-floor heating, hand-formed uneven clay tiles, DVD, HiFi with a selection of DVD/CD’s, Flatscreen TV, Filter coffee / tea machine, bath gowns, kettle, hairdryer, (wine-) fridge, WIFI, radio alarm clock and a writing desk. Most rooms have “Nespresso” style coffee machines (capsules are not included). Some of our rooms are wheelchair friendly to various degrees, with spacious baths, extra-wide doors and everything else in the height to be conveniently reachable from wheelchair level. Rooms 1-3 are load shedding free. Rooms 4-7 have limited generator coverage, mainly for lights.

Cottage 9 is a luxury self-catering cottage with one bedroom, a lounge with a Dover fireplace and kitchenette. Self-catering Units 10-12 are not 4star graded, and generally less luxuriously equipped. All rooms have either single or twin beds and shower only. Floors are made of Terracotta tiles with a noticeable unevenness and slope.

B&B 4 STAR QUEEN BED, BATH AND DRIVE-IN SHOWER
No. 3 Bedroom. This is the largest room in the manor house with reed ceilings and views over the garden, swimming pool, horse camp and vineyards. It has a ground level entrance and extra wide doors. The washbasin and toilet have extra space around and are accessible to suit a wheelchair as well. There are cast aluminium out-door furniture in front of the room to relax and socialise. This room is not as private as all the others as it is adjacent to the reception. The bedroom is air-conditioned.

WHAT IS IN MY ROOM?
Courtesy tea/filter coffee and “Nespresso style” capsule machine (R10/capsule not included), fridge, kettle, microwave, wall-safe, radio-alarm-clock, hair dryer, electric blanket (in winter), bath gowns, branded umbrella and a wind-up torch, A new smart TV with YouTube. Music system and alarm clock Free WIFI.You can watch big Sport events on a 75″ screen at the restaurant.

The bed room has a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a Victorian bathtub on lions’ claws and an even level “drive-in” shower and extra space left side of the toilet for easier access. Please watch the water exit slowly from the floor level shower to cope with the water volume.

The bed room has an original Oregon wooden floor and hand formed terracotta tiles in the bathroom. The swimming pool is about 10 Meter away. There are no steps to the room level, breakfast room, swimming pool and restaurant. The billiard room is very close and also accessible without steps. Parking is directly in front of the room. Non handicapped guests can book this room like all others but be advised that if we do get a booking for a person in need, we may have to accommodate you in one of the other equally nice available rooms. This room is supported by our generator.
