OUDE WELLINGTON
Enjoy your stay on our historical Cape Dutch Estate of 1790 with thatched roofs and a spectacular view over the Hawequa mountains. Hot Breakfast (eggs to order: poached, scrambled or boiled (sorry no omelette) is served 8:00 to 10:00. A grace period with our cold buffet is open until 10:45. Please take note that for more than 10 guests we serve scrambled eggs only.
Our cold buffet includes 4-5 different breads, muesli, corn flakes, other flakes. 3 cheeses, 2-3 cold cuts incl. salami, 2-3 yoghurts, milk, 2-4 fresh fruit in season, 3 jams, honey, Marmite, peanut butter, occasionally Nutella. Bottomless Tea and coffee.

Enjoy your day at the swimming pool, watch the farm animals, play a round of billiards or Pétanque (boule). The new big chess and an outdoor table tennis table is there for you too. During harvest you can actually see the grapes turn into wine before your eyes. Guests enjoying a special anniversary in winter, there is no better place than in front of our big Cape Dutch fireplace with a glass of red wine. Near by a snake farm, lion rescue and crocodile farm are open to the public. Or visit a nearby alpaca breeding farm with a cottage industry.

Oude Wellington Estate is a working farm with animals, vineyards and a winery using open fermentation and wooden basket-press. A traditional Brandy distillery with a build in restaurant. We also have horses on the farm. Our pets include lovable dogs and cats, geese and two alpacas. Our excellent spa for massages. Hiking trails and rock pools in a small national park are a 40 minutes’ drive away.

Luxury rooms (1-7) are 4star graded and have their own private entrances, en-suite Victorian-style bathrooms, wall-safes, air-conditioning; some have under-floor heating, hand-formed uneven clay tiles, DVD, HiFi with a selection of DVD/CD’s, Flatscreen TV, Filter coffee / tea machine, bath gowns, kettle, hairdryer, (wine-) fridge, WIFI, radio alarm clock and a writing desk. Most rooms have “Nespresso” style coffee machines (capsules are not included). Some of our rooms are wheelchair friendly to various degrees, with spacious baths, extra-wide doors and everything else in the height to be conveniently reachable from wheelchair level. Rooms 1-3 are load shedding free. Rooms 4-7 have limited generator coverage, mainly for lights.

Cottage 9 is a luxury self-catering cottage with one bedroom, a lounge with a Dover fireplace and kitchenette. Self-catering Units 10-12 are not 4star graded, and generally less luxuriously equipped. All rooms have either single or twin beds and shower only. Floors are made of Terracotta tiles with a noticeable unevenness and slope.

SELF-CATERING 3 STAR SUITE SHOWER FOR 3 TO 6
No. 10 Self-Catering Suite for up to 6 people. A very large standard equipped suite on the left corner of the Henhouse with views to the mountains. It shares the typical Cape Dutch stoep (veranda) with two neighbouring rooms, but has its own private entrance as well as a back patio with a small braai area. Battery operated Load Shedding lights in bed- and bathroom. The suite has a large bedroom with one double bed and two single beds. A fold-out table can accommodate up to 6 people inside on rainy days. For more than 4 person the second smaller bedroom can be made available (at additional cost). It has a queen-size bed and a wardrobe, table and chairs. The en-suite bathroom off the main bedroom has a large shower. Both bedrooms have fans.

WHAT IS INSIDE MY ROOM?
Courtesy tea/filter coffee, big fridge/freezer, kettle, microwave, radio-alarm-clock, hair dryer, electric blanket (in winter), bath gowns, branded umbrella and a wind-up torch, A new smart TV with YouTube. Music system and alarm clock More sport, movies and Netflix are on a 75″ screen in the Restaurant. The kitchenette is equipped with A 3 plate gas oven/hob, pots, granite top, pan, cutlery, crockery and utensils. If anything, additional is needed we are glad to help.

The ceilings are reed and the floors are tiled. This cottage has all the privacy being a bit away from all the other rooms. The swimming pool, big chess, table tennis is 50 Meter away and parking is right at the cottage. Free WIFI.

A smart 55″TV with YouTube and more. More sport, movies and Netflix are on a 75″ screen in the restaurant. The ceilings are traditional reeds and the floors are covered with hand formed terra cotta tiles and oriental rugs. Please be aware of the uneven sloping floor! and you may notice the washing line behind the hedge. The standard rooms do not have heaters! The swimming pool is 30 Meter away. There are 5 steps to the room level or access via a ramp. Parking is directly in front of the room. A second open sitting area in the back under shade invites to sit outside to relax and socialise.
