Chartwell House is nestled in Port Owen, Velddrif. Our rates include a full English Breakfast with buffet of fruit, fruit juice, yoghurt, toast, and a variety of jams and homemade marmalade. Brewed coffee from a local supplier and various types of tea.

All rooms have en-suite showers with soap in the shower and bathroom amenities on the vanities. Each room has universal plugs next to each side of the bed and at the work/dressing table. We provide complimentary tea/coffee trays with homemade shortbread. No smoking allowed inside, but smoking allowed outside.

There are many attractions in the area, including wine, cheese making, fishing, sailing, bird watching and of course from August to end September we are renown for our magnificent flowers. Port Owen boasts its own Gin Distillery and Artisanal Beer Brewery, Charlies Brewhouse. The Berg River Estuary which surrounds Velddrif has recently been declared a Ramsar site. This provided the wetland national and international recognition as a site of ecological importance with improved conservation action.

Our WI-FI is free to guests and is available in all bedrooms and public areas. Guests are also welcome to use the lounge and patios. We operate an honour bar but do not allow take-away food to be consumed on the premises. NOTE – Rooms can also be booked individually.
